Personal Letters of Reference
1) Christine H
To Whom it May Concern;
I enthusiastically recommend Danielle Souza. I’ve been actively working in the comic con industry for 4 years and I can tell you she has the drive and enthusiasm needed to go places.
I have worked with Danielle at several conventions and have seen her level of commitment and professionalism. She has had to interact with actors, agents and thousands of fans and she did so with grace and confidence. Danielle has always shown up on time and was prepared and ready to begin her day.
I cannot recommend Danielle any higher to you. If you have any questions regarding her candidacy or her character, please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Christine H

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to recommend a former student of mine, Danielle Souza. I have known Danielle for several years now – as a former student, a fellow actor, and a friend.
I had the opportunity to have Danielle in class while she was at Fisher College. She struck me immediately as one of the most confident, motivated and intelligent students I had had over my years of teaching. Danielle was a member of my Public Speaking class and she excelled in this course, more often than not reaching far above my expectations. Her creativity shone through every project and speech she completed and her presentations are still remembered today by many of her peers in the class.
It is outside of the classroom, however, that I have been able to get to know Danielle so well. Danielle was a member of the Fisher Drama Club, which I advise, for two years. Without hesitation I can say that she was one of the most outstanding members of the club. Danielle threw herself into each and every performance we produced as a club over her two years. She received the leading female role in both Hamlet and The Importance of Being Earnest, which won great acclaim from her peers, her teachers, and the president of the institution, who called the latter one of the “best thing he had seen” in his years at Fisher. Danielle returned to the Fisher stage last year, when we did our 10-year Reunion show, and performed a scene from Romeo and Juliet, only a couple of days after running the Boston Marathon.
Danielle is an incredibly hard-working, motivated and intelligent individual, and I am honestly blessed to have been able to get to know her so well over the years. She is well-liked by her peers and teachers and was a student leader on campus, due primarily to her genuine ability to deal with her peers in a kind and even-handed manner. In her career post-grad, she has flourished, as well, whether it be in the Pacific Northwest, California, Florida, or back here in New England. She is an amazing fashion designer, and an accomplished writer of fiction and poetry. I have no doubt that she will excel wherever she goes.
If I can be of any further help in this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Danielle H, Ph.D.

To whom it may concern,
I have had the pleasure of knowing Danielle for years as a student and as an assistant. She has excelled at her work in my classes, creating dynamic and interesting projects in costume design for the stage and in costume production where she has handled designing for specific characters with grace and efficacy. She has been involved with a number of projects professionally, both in film and theatre. When I give her a challenge, she rises to it. She has a great attitude as well; she is proactive in seeking ways to help her fellow students and has been an asset to our developing costume design program. She deserves much credit for pushing for increased collaboration between the fashion department and the MPT/School of acting. Without her, I doubt that a bridge between the two schools would have been forged so effectively! She has solid sewing skills, can handle maintaining a budget, and knows how to conduct herself in a fitting. She is incredibly reliable and I consider myself fortunate to have her as part of my department. Please accept my recommendation of Danielle Souza, as she is truly a wonderful talent and an exceptional person!
Best
Maggie W

To whom it may concern,
I have worked with Danielle as a student designer for a year. She was one of my student designers on “I Hate Hamlet” and our sole designer for “The Heidi Chronicles”. Danielle took initiative on the department’s first fully produced theater project at the Academy of Art University last year. She stepped in to design “Heidi Chronicles” when there was no theater infrastructure to speak of. She worked on her own, doing all aspects: from research and design, to shopping and organizing, to fittings and some construction, to strike. Particularly since we added a prologue with four actresses in period costume, it turned out to be a more challenging project than it might appear on the page.
Danielle works well with everyone at the theater. She has good relationships with her design teacher, the stage manager, the actors and me. The actors like having her around and are comfortable with her working intimately with them. She responds to requests from the show staff and works well on her own without a need for excessive direction.
Danielle also was in a major accident and found a way, through real physical pain, to pull her weight in the show and come up with good designs for her characters. In addition, she made her way through the medical and legal systems, having been a victim of a hit-and-run, all the while staying in school.
If you have any questions about Danielle and her work, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Clark L

To whom it may concern,
I have worked with Danielle Souza for over five years in multiple, major motion picture film projects. In that time, I have come to highly respect her both personally and professionally. Her demeanor, positivity and desire to learn, engages a constant optimism, which brings joy and calmness in the most stressful situations to both cast and crew on set. Her dedication to her craft and willingness to expand her responsibilities beyond her work title has made her a valuable asset in pre, post and actual production. Danielle is not just wildly reliable to any project; she is relentlessly resourceful in her work ethic.
The art of filmmaking is a tricky business, full of inflated, over posturing egos, unrealistic deadlines and brutally long work hours. One has to maintain a composed, friendly disposition, counter balanced with the ability to work with a diverse range of personality types under the most extreme, pressure filled circumstances. Danielle is kind, thoughtful, and honest. This base nature is essential to maturely receive, as well as give, constructive criticism. Danielle does not simply work on films; she makes films stronger, both structurally and thematically.
In film, continuity, construction and affordability are critical to the success and aesthetic of the final artistic statement of a project. Danielle’s attention to detail, innovation in technique and propensity to find the soundest and most inexpensive solution to any problem, has kept budgets low while producing the finest quality of product for the lens. Her constant reassessment of the quality of work she produces, defines the epitome of perfectionism. Danielle doesn’t settle on products that make a film good, she exceeds expectation and makes a film great.
Release dates are finite and studios are taskmasters when it comes to placing a movie in theaters. The only way these targets are met is with punctual, reliable employees, willing to sacrifice their personal life for professional needs. In all the years I have worked with Danielle, she has never missed a day of work or a goal, whether healthy or sick. Her commitment to her job and her crew is unmatched. She will give both life and limb to further the success and stability of her work environment.
In closing, all of the strength and skills that I have addressed about Danielle can be implemented in both professional and academic situations. Uncompromising work ethic, the love and compassion of collaborating with others and most importantly; a fearless desire to meet and surpass expectation with not just a project but with herself.
If you have any questions or concerns about Danielle, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Shem Andre Byron
